Women in Ancient Egypt

In March, the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology hosts the free four-part Tuesday-night series “Spotlight on Women in the World.” On 28 March at 6 pm Dr. Jennifer Wegner, Research Specialist in Penn Museum’s Egyptian Section, examines issues such as virginity, marriage, adultery, prostitution, the role of palace and elite women, women’s work, and cultic sexuality in ancient Egypt.
